Bump for the day crowd. Is it worth the $50 GA tickets?

Worth every penny. It’s so much fun, you sit right by the action. Plus they always have fun stuff to do between heats. We went to the one last year at RFK and it was unbelievable.

Absolutely worth it. The action is very intense and as BugEyedBeetle said, you sit right by the track. Only thing is if you go on a hot summer day (like I did) just be prepared to sit in the scorching heat for a few hours.

Yeah, the Detroit one is July 26th. Not a cold time of year...

It’s been worth it to me, so far.
I’ve been to two events. One in Irwindale, CA and another in Fort Lauderdale, FL (just last weekend). GA tickets in CA did not allow access to the paddocks, but the one in FL let anyone with a ticket access the entire time (for the Sunday festivities at least).
AFAIK, most events you can see the entire track, which was the case at the event in CA. They kept the heats going pretty smooth too so there wasn’t much lag time between the action.
In FL, you could not see the entire track (despite it being less than a half-mile), but they had a jumbo-tron to help out. Like I said, you could go into the paddocks right up to the cars/drivers/crews (engage them in some cases), which is really cool to check out. They had staff that whistled people out of the way for drivers going to and coming from the track. It was pretty hot out though so by the end of the racing I was whooped (old man though).
An example of how close you can get to drivers and the action (at some events).
Foust was making last second checks before qualifying heats began, and here is Eriksson doing a test launch during practice.

Hopefully there would be a shady area, but mine was in a parking lot so it was brutal.

I still haven’t gotten to go to one of their standalone events, but it’s definitely the best thing that comes to the X Games. The cars are amazing, the courses are nuts (jumps!!!), and it’s a rowdy good time.

Just like rally, except in rally it’s free ;)

Definitely panning to go to the one in DC this year.

OMG YES! It is the most fun racing I have ever seen. You get close to the action, the cars are insane, the drivers are super nice in the paddock and you can get up close to the cars. And they know how to put on an event. Just constant action with minimal standby time.
Living in Orlando I’ve been to the following events and this was the best!
24Hrs of Daytona, Daytona 500, 12Hrs of Sebring, Gator Nationals, Formula Drift, Continental Sports Car, St. Pete GP, Offshore Powerboat.
This, this is the most fun you can have at a race course.

I payed 85$ (700 Swedish Kroner) for a weekend ticket with paddock pass for World Rallycross in Sweden last year, so 50$ for GRC seems like a fair deal. You also see a lot more racing than what they show on TV, because practice+heats+semifinals for both Supercars and Lites.
